When scuba diving the Pacific Coast of Panama, there is a standard cast of underwater characters that you will see on every dive. Such as:

King Angelfish, Scissortail Chromis, Flag Cabrilla, Sergeant Majors, Barberfish, Butterflyfish, Snappers, Grunts, Damselfish, Blennies, Beaubrummel, Puffers and Creolefish. This is by no means a complete list, but a typical cast of characters. But, you will see lots of them.

On the boat ride out to these sites, you'll also see lots of turtles coming up for air and Panamic Dolphin. During certain times of the year, you will also see humpbacks (August through October).

Coiba National Park

In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• White tip Reef Sharks, Frogfish, Lobster, Spotted Eagle Rays, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Jacks, Surgeonfish, Porkfish, Eels and many others
• Many Varieties of Coral and Sponges
• Turtles

Islotes Octavios

In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• Lobster, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Eels, Surgeonfish, Porkfish
• Many varieties of Fans, Telestra, Sponges and Gorgonians

Islotes Cativo

In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• Lobster, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Spotted Eagle Rays, Octopus, Moorish Idols, Cortez Barracuda, Jacks, Eels, Surgeonfish, Porkfish, Longtail Stingrays, Circle Rays,
• Many varieties of Coral and Sponges
• Turtles and Starfish
• Mantas flying in the air

Islas Secas

In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• Lobster, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Spotted Eagle Rays, Moorish Idols, Cortez Barracuda, Cortez Angelfish, Pompano, Chubs, Jacks, Surgeonfish
• Many varieties of Coral, Sponges and Fans

Islas Contreras

In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• Lobster, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Spotted Eagle Rays, Moorish Idols, Cortez Barracuda, Cortez Angelfish, Pompano, Chubs, Jacks, Surgeonfish
• Many varieties of Coral, Sponges and Fans

Rocas Prosper

These are Lava Plumes (similar to a wall dive) that rise up over 100 feet. This is an advanced dive due to the currents. In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• Lobster, Trumpetfish, Cornetfish, Spotted Eagle Rays, Moorish Idols, Cortez Barracuda, Cortez Angelfish, Pompano, Chubs, Jacks, Surgeonfish
• Many varieties of Fans, Telestra, Sponges and Gorgonians

Islas Ladrones

These dives are subsea pinnacles. This is an advanced dive due to depths and currents. In addition to the normal cast of characters, you'll also see:

• Large Pelagics: Bull Sharks, White Tip Reef Sharks, Whale Sharks (February & March), Marlin, Tuna, Pompano
• Many varieties of Fans, Telestra, Sponges and Gorgonians
